About Us

Our Mission

The Little Sprouts mission is to create a safe, love, respectful, and inclusive environment where children enjoy spending their time, are challenged and motivated to learn, and are provided daily with opportunities to explore the world around them that build a foundation for life-long learning.

Our focus is to provide a stimulating early learning experience that promotes each child’s language and literacy, executive function, social emotional development, physical development, cognitive development, and creative expressions.

Little Sprouts Team

Owner, Director, Lead Teacher

Hi! My name is Renee Lee. I am the owner, director, and lead teacher at Little Sprouts Child Care. Opening this child care has been a dream of mine since I was a preschool teacher. I have over 10 years of professional experience working with children in child care and preschool settings. In 2021, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lake Washington Institute of Technology. My philosophy in teaching young children is that all children can learn. No matter what their abilities are. I enjoy helping children achieve their milestone goals in language, social/emotional, physical, phonological, fine motor, and cognitive development. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be involved in that process.

My favorite quote is “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

– Fred Rogers

Consultant

My name is Anna Filson. I have enjoyed teaching preschool children for many years. I have earned two degrees in Early Childhood Education and have over thirty-five years of experience.

I met Renee Lee seven years ago when we both were employed by Knowledge Universe, (known as KinderCare) I have worked closely with Renee over the past seven years as she worked in preschools and earned her BAS in Early Childhood Education.

My husband of 51 years, (Walt) and I have raised three sons. In 2014, two of our sons passed away, and we moved to this area, from the Midwest, to be near our remaining son. There in the Midwest, I was the owner and operator of Bullfrogs and Butterflies Childcare and Preschool for 35 years. It has been my joy to work with children, helping them to grow in their development enough to have their own “light bulb” moment.

I am a forever fan of Fred Rogers. He really had an amazing understanding of how very young children developed and gained understanding of the world around them.
